The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has issued a permit allowing Consumers Energy to perform utility repair work at the Airport Road/Hatchery Road intersection in Waterford Township starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 17.
The work is expected to be completed by late December.
During the work, the intersection will remain open to traffic; however, lane restrictions will be in place. To safely accommodate traffic, temporary left-turn arrows will be added to the traffic signals at Hatchery Road. Airport Road currently has left-turn arrows at the intersection.
The traffic signals will also operate by allowing only one direction of traffic at a time through the intersection. Traffic signal timing will be adjusted to accommodate construction activity; delays may occur.
The Airport Road/Hatchery Road intersection carries approximately 18,740 vehicles daily.
For questions about the work, contact Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050.
