Welcome to the Oakland County Federal Aid Committee (FAC) informational page.
The Oakland County FAC is the body that allocates federal road funding coming to Oakland County. It uses objective rating systems to select the road projects that will receive the federal dollars in coming years.
The FAC members include the 62 Oakland County cities, villages and townships; the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC); Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT); and the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART).
The Oakland County FAC meets approximately three times a year to discuss federal road funding and to select projects to receive future funding. Approximately $20 million in federal funds is available each year for road projects on federal-aid-eligible roads throughout Oakland County. Projects are typically selected three years in advance of construction.
