Consumers Energy has closed the southbound right (outside) lane on Orchard Lake Road, from just north of 13 Mile Road to 12 Mile Road in Farmington Hills, until late April for utility work.
Traffic has been shifted to the left (inside) lane in the work zone. Business and side street access will be maintained during the work.
The work is being done under a permit issued by the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) and in advance of a planned 2025 resurfacing project on Orchard Lake Road, from south of 12 Mile Road to 13 Mile Road. Details for the project will be announced soon.
Southbound Orchard Lake Road carries approximately 19,720 vehicles daily.
