The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close a section of Giddings Road immediately north of Silver Bell Road in Orion Township for construction starting Monday, Oct. 7, through Nov. 1 (see attached map for the closure location).
The closure is part of the ongoing 2.8-mile project to reconstruct Brown, Giddings and Silver Bell roads from Jamm Road to Lapeer Road (M-24) on the Auburn Hills/Orion Township border, which began in April.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on Silver Bell Road during the closure.
The through-traffic detour route for Giddings Road traffic is Silver Bell Road to Lapeer Road (M-24) to Waldon Road, back to Giddings Road and vice versa. Businesses along Giddings Road will remain accessible by using Waldon Road.
This section of Giddings Road carries approximately 2,110 vehicles per day.
