The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has closed Brown Road between the north and south legs of Giddings Road for reconstruction on the Auburn Hills/Orion Township border until August 20.
The closure is part of the ongoing 2.8-mile project to reconstruct Brown, Giddings, and Silver Bell roads from Jamm Road to Lapeer Road (M-24), which began on April 16.
The through-traffic detour route during the closure is Brown Road to the north leg of Giddings Road to Silver Bell Road to Lapeer Road (M-24), back to Brown Road and vice versa. This segment of Brown Road carries approximately 9,920 vehicles per day.
