The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has installed a work zone camera that now provides a real-time view of the roundabout construction underway at the Waldon Road/Clintonville Road intersection in Independence Township.
The camera takes a photo every 15 minutes between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Viewers can follow the construction progress on the RCOC website (www.rcocweb.org).
Click on the “Live-Road Construction Cameras” link at the bottom of the homepage in the “Popular Resources” section (direct link to the camera: https://tinyurl.com/yck6uu65). Site visitors can view photos of the projects or a time-lapse series that combines all images taken in succession. RCOC will produce a compilation of all photos after the project is completed.
The roundabout is part of the ongoing Waldon Road, Baldwin Road to Clintonville Road, gravel-road paving project that started in 2023. Waldon Road remains closed to traffic until completion of the roundabout in early November.
The contractor for this project is Dan’s Excavating, of Shelby Township. The project is expected to be completed in early November.
