The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has installed a work zone camera that now provides a real-time view of the culvert replacement at Indianwood Road over Paint Creek. The camera takes a photo every 15 minutes between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Viewers can follow the construction progress on the RCOC website (www.rcocweb.org). Click on the “Live-Road Construction Cameras” link at the bottom of the page under the “Popular Resources” section (direct link to the camera: https://tinyurl.com/2ajj7ezt). Site visitors can view photos of the projects or a time-lapse series that combines all images taken in succession. RCOC will produce a compilation of all photos after the project is completed.
The project includes:
- Removal of the culvert under the road (starting July 1 due to state waterway restrictions).
- Replacement with a pre-cast concrete culvert.
- Asphalt paving in the vicinity of the new culvert.
- New curbs and gutters will be added to the road in the vicinity of the culvert.
- New guardrail installed adjacent to the culvert.
- Drainage improvements.
- Township watermain and sanitary sewer upgrades.
The contractor for this project is Dan’s Excavating, with an approximate completion date of October 5, 2024. For more information on this project, visit RCOC website, www.rcocweb.org and scroll down to Indianwood Road Culvert over Paint Creek.
