[ARCHIVED] SOCWA TO CLOSE EASTBOUND 12 MILE RD, JUST WEST OF SOUTHFIELD RD, APR. 13-14 FOR UTILITY WORK

Traffic Alert Sign

The Southeastern Oakland County Water Authority (SOCWA) plans to close eastbound 12 Mile Road, from just east of Guy Street to Southfield Road (just west of Southfield Road) on the Southfield/Lathrup Village border, Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, for utility work.

This closure is necessary for water infrastructure repairs that will be done by SOCWA under a permit issued by the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC).

During the closure, access to homes and businesses in the vicinity will be maintained. The detour route for eastbound 12 Mile Road traffic will be Evergreen Road to 11 Mile Road/I-696 Service Drive to Southfield Road and back to 12 Mile Road.

Westbound 12 Mile Road will remain open to traffic during the work. Eastbound 12 Mile Road is expected to reopen on the evening of April 14. This section of eastbound 12 Mile Road carries approximately 9,380 vehicles daily.

For questions about the project, contact SOCWA at 248-288-5150.
