The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has issued a permit allowing Frank Rewold and Sons, a private developer, to close Milford Road, from 11 Mile Road to Locust Street in Lyon Township, to through traffic starting Wednesday, Oct. 1, through Tuesday, Nov. 11.
The closure is necessary for the contractor to construct a new driveway and install utilities under the road for Lyon Township’s new library facility. A center left-turn lane will be added to southbound Milford Road at 11 Mile Road as part of the project.
The through traffic detour during the closure is 11 Mile Road to Pontiac Trail, back to Milford Road and vice versa.
This section of Milford Road carries approximately 10,750 vehicles daily.
