Consumers Energy is expected to again close the western Walnut Lake Road approach to Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield Township on Saturday, Sept. 13, for one day for pavement repairs.
The work results from an earlier gas leak in early August and repairs that continued Sept. 6. The closure will include Walnut Lake Road from Orchard Lake Road to just east of Green Road.
The closure will start at 7 a.m. and is expected to reopen at approximately 4 p.m.
During the closure, Orchard Lake Road traffic will not be able to turn onto westbound Walnut Lake Road and eastbound Walnut Lake Road traffic will not be able to turn onto Orchard Lake or proceed through the intersection. The intersection will remain open for north/south traffic and for Walnut Lake Road traffic east of Orchard Lake Road.
The traffic detour is Walnut Lake Road to Green Road to Orchard Lake Road, back to Walnut Lake Road and vice versa.
