The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has issued a permit to the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s Office (OCWRC) to close westbound 10 Mile Road, from Woodward Avenue/M-1 to Scotia Road on the Huntington Woods/Oak Park/Pleasant Ridge border, starting Monday, Jan. 6, for sanitary sewer repairs.
During the closure, eastbound 10 Mile Road will remain open to traffic. Though westbound 10 Mile will be closed, access to businesses will be maintained on westbound 10 Mile Road.
The closure is just east of Rackham Golf Course. To access the golf course, take eastbound 10 Mile Road to the I-696 crossover just east of Rosewood Avenue and cross over to westbound 10 Mile.
The westbound 10 Mile Road traffic detour is Woodward Avenue/M-1 to the westbound entrance ramp to I-696, then I-696 west to the Coolidge Hwy./10 Mile Road exit ramp and back to westbound 10 Mile Road.
Westbound 10 Mile Road is expected to reopen on March 31. This section of 10 Mile Road carries approximately 3,040 vehicles daily.
