The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects a contractor to return to the Cooley Lake Road bridge over the Huron River, located between Oxbow Lake Road and Carroll Lake Road on the White Lake Township/Commerce Township border, on Thursday, May 30, to repave the bridge and its approaches.
The bridge was replaced in 2023.
The contractor will replace the asphalt because it did not meet RCOC specifications when originally placed. The contractor is paying for the repaving work.
The road will remain open during the work, with flaggers directing traffic. The work is expected to last one day and is weather-dependent.
This section of Cooley Lake Road carries approximately 9,640 vehicles daily.
