The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close Voorheis Road from Telegraph Road (US 24) to Huron Street/Highland Road (M-59) on the Pontiac/Waterford Township border on Saturday, May 4, to replace a culvert under the road.
The work is expected to take one day to complete, and Voorheis Road will reopen the same day. In case of inclement weather, the work could be moved to Sunday, May 5.
Access to homes and businesses on Voorheis Road will be maintained during the closure. The culvert is located between Draper Avenue and Starr Avenue.
The detour for through traffic is Telegraph Road (US 24) to Huron Street/Highland Road (M-59) back to Voorheis Road and vice versa.
The work is being done in advance of the 2024 planned simple resurfacing work on Voorheis Road, Telegraph Road to Huron Street/Highland Road which will provide a smooth driving surface.
