The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects to close McCoy Street from Benstein Road to Ladd Road on the Wolverine Lake/Commerce Township border on Saturday, March 23, to remove and replace two culverts under the road.
The work is expected to take one day, and McCoy Street will reopen the same day. In case of inclement weather, the work could be moved to Sunday, March 24.
During the closure, access to homes on McCoy Street will be maintained east and west of the culvert work. The culverts are located between Wilkshire Street and Killarney Court and just west of Mapledale Street.
The detour for through traffic is Benstein Road to Maple Road to Ladd Road, back to McCoy Street and vice versa.
The work is being done in advance of the 2024 planned simple resurfacing work on McCoy Street, Ladd Road to Benstein Road, which will provide a smooth driving surface. Additionally, Ladd Road from Enterprise Drive to McCoy Street will also be resurfaced.
This segment of McCoy Street carries approximately 2,020 vehicles daily.
