FUNDING/PROJECT INFORMATION:

The approximate $4 million project is eighty percent paid for with federal road funding. The remainder is split by the Road Commission for Oakland County, Waterford Township and Oakland County general government (trough the Tri-Party Program).  

The 1.24 mile project includes:

  • Removal of existing concrete pavement
  • Asphalt paving
  • Some replacement of curbs and gutters
  • Minor improvements to storm sewers and drainage
  • Traffic signal upgrade at the drive to Mason Middle School
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant pedestrian crosswalks 

CONTRACTOR/TIMELINE/TRAFFIC IMPACT:

START DATE:  Summer, TBA

PROJECT COMPLETION: November, TBA

TRAFFIC IMPACT:  Walton Blvd. will remain open in each direction throughout the project.  Access to homes and businesses along this section of Walton Blvd. will be maintained at all times.
