      <title>PUBLIC INFO MEETING IS MAY 30 FOR TIENKEN WIDENING PROJECT IN ROCHESTER HILLS </title>

<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%"><font face="Times New Roman">The meeting will take place in the media center of Stoney Creek High School, 575 E. Tienken Road (at Sheldon) in Rochester Hills (please enter the school through the north entrance, which is closest to the media center). </font></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%"><font face="Times New Roman">The meeting will be “open house” format, with no formal presentation. Anyone can attend at any time between 4 and 7 p.m.to discuss the project with RCOC staff or review plans.</font></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%"><font face="Times New Roman">This section of Tienken will be reconstructed primarily as a three-lane road, with a continuous center left-turn lane. There will be right-turn lanes at side streets and major driveways. The road will not be reconstructed at the Rochester Road intersection.</font></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%"><font face="Times New Roman">The project will involve reconstructing the road with asphalt pavement and concrete curbs and gutters. Included in the project will be the resurfacing of the Tienken/Sheldon roundabout and installation of raised, concrete pedestrian crosswalks and lighting at the roundabout.</font></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%"><font face="Times New Roman">Also included will be drainage improvements and pedestrian pathways on each side of the road. </font></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%"><font face="Times New Roman">The project is expected to start in early June with the road expected to be closed shortly after June 14.</font></span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%"><font face="Times New Roman">The project is expected to cost approximately $2 million. Of this amount, $1.6 million will be covered with federal funds. The remaining $400,000 will be shared by RCOC and the City of Rochester Hills.</font></span></p>

Since 1978, safety concerns have guided virtually everything we do, from project selection and design to road maintenance activities. As a result, today Oakland County has a traffic fatality rate that is half of either the state or national rates.”</font></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><b style=""><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%">Beverly Hills</span></b><b style=""><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%">, Mich. — </span></b><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%">The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will conduct a public information meeting Wednesday, May 22, <b style=""><u>at 7 p.m,</u></b> about the upcoming replacement of the 13 Mile Road bridge over the Rouge River in Bingham Farms.</span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%">The meeting will take place in the media center of Bingham Farms Elementary School, 2340 W. 13 Mile Road (between Lahser and Telegraph roads) in Bingham Farms. There <b style="">will</b> be a formal presentation followed by an opportunity to discuss the project with RCOC staff or review project plans.</span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%">The bridge replacement project is expected to start June 17. During the project, 13 Mile Road will be closed to through traffic between Telegraph and Lahser. It will be completely closed at the bridge. The road is expected to re-open to traffic by Oct. 18.</span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%">During the project, the detour route for through traffic will be Lahser Road to 12 Mile Road to Telegraph Road and back to 13 Mile and vice versa. </span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%">The bridge replacement project will cost approximately $2.5 million. Of that amount, approximately $2 million is being paid for with Michigan Local Bridge Program funds (a combination of state and federal dollars). The remainder is being shared by RCOC, Bingham Farms and Oakland County general government (through the Tri-Party program).</span></p>
<p class=MsoNormal style="margin:0in 0in 0pt;line-height:200%;text-indent:0.5in"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:200%">The existing bridge was built in 1926. The work will be performed by Z Contractors Inc. of Shelby twp.</span></p>
