Beverly Hills, Mich. — The following projects may cause traffic delays on Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) roads between Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 or may start shortly thereafter.

It is RCOC’s goal to conduct road improvement projects in a way that interferes with traffic as little as possible. This list includes both Road Commission projects and projects conducted by others, under permit, on roads under the jurisdiction of the Road Commission.

Please note: This information is subject to change. Projects can change from day to day, and traffic delays can develop in a matter of minutes due to weather, emergency situations, etc.

Asterisks next to projects denote new projects or a change since last week.        

 

*ROAD:                     Livernois Road bridge over the Clinton River just south of Avon Road

Project:                       The bridge is finished and open to traffic. The outside lanes remain closed while Rochester Hills completes work on its pathway project adjacent to the bridge.

Completion Date:      Dependent on City’s pathway project

 

*ROAD:                     Commerce Road, Carroll Lake Road to Union Lake Road 

Project:                       RCOC has completed resurfacing this section of Commerce except for landscaping, which is underway. There will be intermittent lane closures through approx. Nov. 21.

Community:               Commerce Township

Completion Date:      By approximately Nov. 21, weather permitting

 

*ROAD:                     Lahser Road from 11 Mile Road through the 12 Mile Road intersection

Project:                       RCOC is widening this section of Lahser from four lanes to five. Traffic has been shifted to the inside lanes. The outside lanes will remain closed until the end of November.

Community:               Southfield

Completion Date:      By the end of November

 

*ROAD:                     Cooley Lake Road, east of Duck Lake Road to Mystic Valley Street/Majestic Oaks Street

Project:                       This section of Cooley Lake Road is closed while RCOC paves the gravel road. During the closure, the detour route is Duck Lake Road to Commerce Road to Carey Road and back to Cooley Lake Road and vice versa.

Community:               On the Milford Township/Highland Township border and the White Lake Township/Commerce Township border

Completion Date:      By the end of the day, Nov. 9, weather permitting

 

*ROAD:                     14 Mile Road, from just west of Campbell to just east of Stephenson Highway

Project:                       RCOC has resurfaced this section of 14 Mile. Only the landscaping remains to be finished. The outside lanes will be closed while that work is done.

Community:               On the Madison Heights/Troy border

Completion Date:      By approximately Nov. 16

 

*ROAD:                     Crooks Road from Star Batt to Bonnie Brae north of Hamlin

Project:                       RCOC has widened (three lanes to five) and reconstructed this road. The road is open, but there will be intermittent lane closures until Nov. 21 while landscaping is completed.

Community:               Rochester Hills

Completion Date:      Nov. 21

 

ROAD:                       Pontiac Trail, West Maple Road to South Commerce Road

Project:                       RCOC is reconstructing this section of Pontiac Trail. During the project, Pontiac Trail remains open, but is reduced to one lane in each direction.   

Community:               Walled Lake

Completion Date:      By Nov. 15

 

ROAD:                       Clintonville Road between Maybee and Waldon roads

Project:                       RCOC has closed this section of Clintonville until approximately Nov. 9 in order to replace a box culvert under the road. During the closure, the detour route is Pine Knob Road to Waldon Road and back to Clintonville Road and vice vesa.

Community:               Independence Twp.

Completion Date:      By end of day Nov. 9, weather permitting

 

ROAD:                       Gunn Road between Sheldon Road and Knob Creek Street

Project:                       RCOC has closed this section of Gunn Road until approximately Nov. 16 to reconstruct a section of the road that is eroding into the Stony Creek. During the closure, the detour route for through traffic is Sheldon Road to Snell Road to Mt. Vernon Road and back to Gunn Road and vice versa.

Community:               Oakland Twp.

Completion Date:      By approximately Nov. 16

 

ROAD:                       Joslyn Road between Brown and Silver Bell roads

Project:                       The CN Railroad will close this section of Joslyn Road from Nov. 8 through approx.. Nov. 13, but will open the road during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10 and 11). The closure is needed so CN can repair two railroad crossings. During the closure, the detour route will be Brown Road to Giddings Road to Silver Bell Road and back to Joslyn Road and vice versa.
