There will be short-term rolling road closures on Haggerty Road and Grand River Avenue on Oct. 17 and 21 (more dates to be announced) beginning at 9 a.m. each day. The closures are necessary to accommodate the transports of large generators. The transport will start at 8 Mile Road to Haggerty Road to Grand River Avenue to the Livingston County border. The rolling closures will be short-term and motorists can expect some delays. There will be a longer closure on Grand River Avenue just east of Kent Lake Road as the transport crosses a load restricted bridge in the area. The transport is being done under a permit issued by the Road Commission for Oakland County. Weighmaster staff will be assisting the transport as it moves through southwest Oakland County. The dates could change based on weather and equipment.
Additional rolling road closure date of Oct. 22 has been added to the transportation plans.
Rolling road closures for the movement of large generators to Livingston County will now take place on Oct. 15 and Oct. 17. Expect rolling road closures after 9 a.m. on 8 Mile/Haggerty Road to Grand River Avenue to the the Livingston County border. The generators will start moving through Wayne County at 9 a.m. and will not be in Oakland until either later morning for early afternoon. The work is being done under a permit and supervised by RCOC Weighmaster staff.
Rolling closures canceled in Oakland County for 10/9 and will resume on 10/10 after 9 a.m.
Additional rolling road closures expected Oct. 9, 14 & 15 for wide/heavy loads. Route is Haggerty Road at 8 Mile to Grand River Avenue to the Livingston County. The loads will start in Wayne County around 9 a.m. each day and move north to Oakland County and west to Livingston County.
Rolling transport dates have been moved to Oct. 3 and Oct. 7.
